Xiaoxin Zhou (Fellow, IEEE) graduated from Tsinghua University, in 1965. He is currently the Honorary President of the China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI) and an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and NAE member. His main research interests include power system analysis and control, power system digital simulation, and flexible ac transmission system (FACTS). He received the IEEE Nari Hingorani FACTS Award, in 2008.
Prof. Om P. Malik

Om P. Malik (Life Fellow, IEEE) received a bachelor’s degree (National Diploma) in electrical engineering and the M.E. degree in electrical machine design from the University of Roorkee, Roorkee, India, in 1952 and 1962, respectively, the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of London, London, U.K., in 1965, and the D.I.C. degree from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London, U.K., in 1965. In 1968, he joined the University of Calgary, Calgary, AB, Canada, where he is currently a Professor Emeritus with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is a fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and the Institution of Electrical Engineers. He is also actively involved in IFAC and is currently the Chair of the IFAC Technical Committee on Power Plants.
Prof. Licheng Li

Li Licheng received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1963., Currently, he is a Professor with the South University of Technology, Guangzhou, China. His research activities include high-voltage direct-current technology, high-voltage engineering, as well as power system analysis and stability., Prof. Licheng is a member of the China Engineering Academy.

Jizhong Zhu is a Professor of South China University of Technology, and National Distinguished Expert. He is an IEEE Fellow, IET Fellow, CSEE Fellow, Chair of IEEE Standard IEEE P2781 WG and P2783 WG, Chair of IEEE PCCC SBLC Technical Committee, IEEE SMC Intelligent Power and Energy Systems Technical Committee member. He has been an Expert of IEEE 2030.9 Standard WG on Micro-grids, Expert of International Electrotechnical Commission WGs IEC SEG6, IEC TC22 AHG1, IEC TC22 AHG2, respectively, and Chair of IEEE SBLC Load Subcommittee as well as Chair of IEEE SBLC Asia-Pacific Working Group. Dr. Zhu has worked at ALSTOM Grid Inc. in Washington State, Howard University in Washington, D.C., the National University of Singapore, Brunel University in England, and Chongqing University and CSG in China. He was a Senior Principal Engineer as well as a Fellow with ALSTOM Grid Inc., and an honorable advisory professor of Chongqing University. He has published six books as an author and co-author, as well as about three hundred papers in the international journals and conferences. His research interest is in the analysis, operation, planning and control of power systems, smart grid, power markets as well as applications of renewable energy.
Prof. Udaya K. Madawala

Udaya K. Madawala graduated with a B.Sc. (Electrical Engineering) (Hons) degree from The University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in 1987, and received his PhD (Power Electronics) from The University of Auckland, New Zealand in 1993 as a Commonwealth Doctoral Scholar. At the completion of his PhD, he was employed by Fisher & Paykel Ltd, New Zealand, as a Research and Development Engineer to develop new technologies for motor drives. In 1997 he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Auckland and, at present as a Full Professor, he focuses on a number of power electronics projects related to wireless EV charging systems for V2G applications. Udaya is an IEEE Fellow and a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Power Electronic Society (PELS), and has over 32 years of both industry and research experience in the fields of power electronics and energy. He has served both the IEEE Power Electronics and Industrial Electronics Societies in numerous roles, relating to editorial, advisory, conference, technical committees and chapter activities. Currently, Udaya is an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, and a member of both the Administrative Committee and Membership Development Committee of the IEEE Power Electronics Society. He is also the Chair of IEEE Southern Power Electronics Conference (SPEC) Steering Committee. Udaya, who has over 300 IEEE and IET journal and conference publications, holds a number of patents related to wireless power transfer (WPT) and power converters, and is a consultant to industry.

Brief Introduction
Zhe Chen (Fellow, IEEE) received the B.Eng. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the Northeast China Institute of Electric Power Engineering, Jilin, China, the M.Phil. in power electronic from Staffordshire University, Stoke-on-Trent, U.K., and the Ph.D. degree in power and control from the University of Durham, Durham, U.K.,Since 2002, he has been a Full Professor with the Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark. He is currently the Leader of Wind Power System Research Program with the Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University. His main research interests include wind power, power electronics, power systems, and multi energy systems.,Chen is also an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, a Member of Editorial Boards of many international journals, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET, London, U.K.), and a Chartered Engineer in the U.K.
Prof. Tao Yu

Tao Yu (Member, IEEE) received the B.Eng. degree in electrical power system from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 1996, the M.Eng. degree in hydroelectric engineering from Yunnan Polytechnic University, Kunming, China, in 1999, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2003. He is currently a Professor with the School of Electric Power, South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China. His research interests include nonlinear and coordinated control theory, artificial intelligence techniques in planning, and operation of power systems.
